LAGUNARO offers a comprehensive system of social protection that is probably unique in the world. It provides coverage to the worker-members when they are unable to work, either for health reasons or because their cooperatives have to reduce their workforce, and when they retire. It also provides death benefits to members’ families and health care benefits to worker-members and their families.
